Natural Wireless Helps KLM – Royal Dutch Airlines Achieve the Perfect Transatlantic Live High-Five
KLM – Royal Dutch Airlines is the flag carrier airline of the Netherlands. KLM operates scheduled passenger and cargo services to numerous destinations worldwide. It is the oldest airline in the world still operating under its original name.
KLM needed a fast and reliable broadband internet connection for an event in the center of Flatiron Square (NYC) so they could set-up a live-stream between Amsterdam and New York, inviting locals in the two cities to connect by trying to achieve the perfect transatlantic high-five. To accomplish this, two special video installations were created, with a live video and sound link. One in Amsterdam, the other in New York, with the Flatiron Building as a backdrop.
How We Helped
This was no easy task. For this event to be successful, it was essential for KLM to get a superfast internet link. So, the film & production company (BUREAU NY) hired Natural Wireless and GGGroup to execute a tactical deployment in less than two hours providing KLM a guaranteed reliable high bandwidth broadband connection with low latency and symmetrical speeds. An Internet link was established via Natural Wireless point-to-point dedicated network and everything worked perfectly.
The event was a huge success as lots of people in New York used the live link to give high-fives to someone in Amsterdam, attempting to achieve perfect aim and timing. Those who did received a ticket to Amsterdam, while the winner in Amsterdam won a trip to New York.
